A New Year
We both taught last semester and with the cruise in December we did not get a chance to send out Christmas cards. So, I wanted to post a quick update on our family.
Our cruise in December was a lot of fun although Moorea got sick for the first few days. She went on all the shore excursions with us and she especially liked watching movies, eating a big breakfast everyday (her favorite meal), watching comedy shows, and seeing camels and cats. Her least favorite part of the trip was seeing Santa. Once again, she was not happy about Santa. She did stop crying long enough to get a present from Santa, but nonetheless she is not a fan.
January was busy with lots of travel. Caprice had to go to New York and D.C. and then we all went to Miami. We stopped in at Disney on the way back from Miami and stayed for 3 days. Moorea had a blast and her favorite rides were Dumbo, Snow White, and the Merry-Go-Round. Moorea had to eat popcorn each day we were at the park and we all tried to stay warm.
She is completely brainwashed by all things Princess so Disney was a hit. She even met Ariel from the Little Mermaid and talked to her about the shoes she had on.
Her 2nd birthday was pretty quiet. We did not have a big party like we did last year, but she was really excited about her Happy Cake and blowing out the candles. Our little girl ate a huge piece of cake and also got her ears pierced.
We had a fun Valentine's Day party with our Sunday School class and Moorea got to stay up until 10 PM with the big kids.
Our travel schedule has calmed down and life is back to normal. Colin is busy working on his second paper and Caprice has taken on 2 projects at the Veterans Administration.
Moorea is such a happy girl and very sweet. Her teachers tell us that she never gets in trouble and that she likes to give hugs to the teachers. She can count, say ABCs, colors, is working on opposites, and she knows her name starts with M. She likes to cut with scissors and glue things. Her new challenge is potty training. We are making slow progress, but progress is what counts. Every once in a while she will sleep in her big bed, but for the most part she is still in the crib and not trying to climb out.
